According to The Athletic, Birmingham City’s £1 million bid for Lyndon Dykes of QPR has been accepted.
This season, Birmingham City hopes to move up from League One.
The Blues were unexpectedly relegated the previous season, and they don’t seem to want to stay in the third division any longer than necessary.
The team led by Chris Davies has had great success thus far in the transfer market, completing several acquisitions that few would have predicted could be completed in League One.
After learning that a bid for Dykes was accepted, it appears they will now be adding a striker to their lineup.
According to The Athletic, Dykes is having his medical with Birmingham City today following QPR’s acceptance of a £1 million proposal. The seasoned striker is expected to sign a three-year contract with the Blues.
Declaration of purpose
Having Dykes in League One will be a great option.
In 41 second-tier games the previous season, the 28-year-old striker assisted one goal and scored six goals.
This season, he has only made one league appearance for Marti Cifuentes’ team, but in their 2-2 tie with Sheffield United, he scored in just five minutes off the bench.
With nearly 150 Championship matches under his belt, the Scottish international has nine goals in 31 appearances for his country.
Since joining Rangers in 2020, he has made significant contributions to the team’s goal total in each of his seasons at Loftus Road.
